Michael Wilford

Belgium | Maritime Hoist Operations

Michael Wilford, a Belgian native, embarked on his aviation career in 2000 as a safety rescue diver at NHV, serving the Belgian Sea Shipping Pilot Service. Growing up as the son of a dedicated private pilot, his passion for aviation led him to obtain his ATPL (H). He quickly began flying a diverse range of missions, including VIP transport, Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), Helicopter Hoist Operations (HHO), and Search and Rescue (SAR).

In addition to his flying experience, Michael has held significant roles such as Commercial Manager, Deputy Flight Operations Manager and Flight Operations Auditor, gaining valuable insights into the complexities of aviation management. He continues to fly freelance and also within his own helicopter company, Helimo, where he specialises in air transport and aerial work.

Recognising a growing need for specialised aviation services, Michael founded NSAS, which focuses on intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions using both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. His commitment to excellence and safety in aviation has positioned him as a respected figure in the industry. With a blend of operational expertise and a keen understanding of advanced aerial capabilities, Michael Wilford remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of aviation while ensuring the highest standards of service and safety.
